Chapter Eight

Three Months Later

Arnold had quit work on Monday and picked up his things before anyone else got into the office. He may not have been a lion, but any big cat whose pride had taken that bad of a beating would quit with their tail between their legs. That meant zero awkwardness at work. Linda and Cole and Miranda and Rod kept dating and found that they had more than just chemistry…they were fated mates. Of course, they kept dating…but while the girls went on double dates with their cats, Ashley had more than just her hands full with Jet and Onyx.

The three months were everything that Ashley had ever wanted in a relationship. There was adventure and there was intimacy. There was excitement and there was tenderness. And of course…there were bare buns and Bear Buns.

Even though Ashley was cool with Jet and Onyx continuing to dance at Bear Buns, the panda pair had stopped dancing after their magical night together. After all, the point of ‘The Twelve Dancing Bears’ was to help bear shifters find their fated mates…and now that Jet and Onyx had found the love of their lives, there was no need for them to continue dancing. That meant that there were ten bears in ‘The Twelve Dancing Bears,’ and although a pair of grizzlies from the independent dancer group were subbing in for Jet and Onyx, Jet and Onyx still had to find permanent replacements. Pandas weren’t exactly common in Seattle, so they were going up and down the West Coast looking for another pair of pandas to replace them…and of course, they took Ashley with them.

San Francisco. Monterey. Los Angeles. The entire trio’s expenses, from first class flights and hotel rooms to luxury catered meals, were covered by the club. Ashley had to go with the guys. After all, she was proof that one could find true love by dancing on stage and tearing off their clothes. At each location, the Bear Buns crew took pictures of mate marks, made videos of the auditions, and took down contact info, because at the rate Bear Buns was growing, they’d need to have replacement dancers on call. After a few lackluster years in which none of the Bear Buns dancers had found mates, menages and pairs had been hooked up pretty much every other week. The world famous ‘Twelve Dancing Bears’ crew only had one pair of its original members left…a pair of koalas that_ were ready to show a lucky lady how Aussie shifters could shake their bear buns (even if koalas weren’t really bears).

Now that Onyx, Jet, and Ashley were back in Seattle, and they had been dating for a few months, Onyx and Jet had a very special date to take Ashley on…the most special date they’d ever take her on. Although they had told her that it was just a dinner to thank her for coming with them on the recruitment drive, they had something else up their sleeves…or rather, in their pockets, in small black velvet boxes.
